We are currently looking for 2 Customer Service Advisors to join us on a full and part time basis: Full time – 7 month fixed term contract, part time (16 hours per week) on a 6 month fixed term contract.

Within the role you will support the Customer Services team in the delivery of a high quality, customer-focused housing service. Providing a professional and friendly customer-focused front-line service to our customer enquiries, you will deal with issues such as rent accounts, tenancy enquiries, complaints, repairs and transfer / waiting list enquiries.

As the successful candidate you will have GCSE-level (or equivalent) qualifications and previous experience of providing a front-facing customer service. With experience of working in a busy environment and managing a number of conflicting priorities, you will be able to work on your own initiative and with a team, ensuring that the aims and objectives of the business are met.

Knowledge of housing or repairs is desirable but not essential.

Asset Services Manager (commercial, strategy, project)

We are now looking to recruit for an Asset Manager to join us to take overall responsibility for the effective commercial management of Colne’s housing assets; creating and delivering investment strategies that increase the value of Colne’s assets over time and ensuring that assets remain fit for purpose to meet changing organisational and market needs.

Leading the technical delivery team who are responsible for asset condition, asset investment and replacement and renewal, you must lead on the creation and maintenance of a cost effective and high-quality supply chain of consultants and contractors to deliver asset investment needs and ensure that an effective governance and compliance regime is in place which meets current standards.

You will also act as the client lead on contractor and consultant management and implement a strong, robust performance culture, setting, monitoring and improving upon performance results that drive customer satisfaction.

Candidates for this role must hold a minimum of HNC/HND level Building Surveying or Building Studies / Construction (or equivalent) and CIOB/RICS memberships (or be working towards this). With experience of working with leadership and staff management across a range of activities, you will have a solid background in the delivery of business plans and projects and of building successful contractor partnerships. Knowledge of relevant construction/health and safety legislation and regulations is essential and you must have specific experience of managing risk and compliance.

Building Surveyor

Joining us as a Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for asset quality and will act as the primary point of contact for Colne on matters related to the assets in your area, providing expertise and advice to manage technical issue and forward plan to maintain asset quality.

Completing property inspections including the identification and categorisation of building condition and defects and the specification of reactive and planned remedial work while exercising technical due diligence, you will carry out pre-acquisition, stock condition and asset appraisal surveys; raising orders, preparing estimates and specifications and supervising contractors.

Managing and progressing insurance claims, you must carry out inspections and investigations in relation to any insurance claims made by or against Colne, ensure responsive maintenance work is recorded in the appropriate format and manage recommendations following risk assessments, legionella inspections, asbestos reports etc.

To be successful in this role, candidates for this role must hold a minimum of HNC/HND level Building Surveying or Building Studies / Construction (or equivalent) and CIOB/RICS memberships (or be working towards this). With robust surveying experience across a broad spectrum of surveying work, you should have a high attention to detail and be prepared to undertake appropriate training / qualifications in Asbestos Inspection/DDA Auditing/ Fire Risk Assessment/Party Wall work as required.

Due to the nature of the role, a current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
